Pic of the week!
Ok, so I have to confess this is one of those. “I caught him at the right moment” pictures and one of my current favorites.

1 Month Old Today…
Wow. Does time really fly when your life centers around such a bundle of joy. George has been doing very well. He is now smiling a lot more and will reach up to touch our faces. He is also finding his rhythm sleeping more consistent. He still gets up at least 3 times during the night and can sometimes refuse to fall back asleep, but in general all is good. With each new day brings a new adventure and allows all of us to learn something new and we can’t wait for more…
Please enjoy some of our new pics.
Ah. Sleep is good.
Mom and George.

2 weeks & growing…
We have survived the first two weeks with George at home. He was a bit fussy the first couple of days, but overall is a wonderful baby. We are working to adjust our schedules to his seeing he still has his nights & days mixed up…which is getting better…but not quite figured out yet. He had his 2 week check up where the Dr. wants to see him back to his birth weight of 7 lbs 7 oz…..much to our surprise he weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz – so it seems he is indeed getting enough to eat! In addition to his increased weight, he grew an additional 1 3/4″ since he was born measuring 22 3/4″ long. Pretty sure we are going to have a big boy on our hands.
I am amazed each day how George gains control of his arms and learns to soothe himself. He loves to have his bottom tapped when walked around as well as the tune to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (ABCs & Ba-Bah Blacksheep)….not to mention his amazement of lights. He will stare at lights for a good amount of time. Good thing for us, we have lots of lights to choose from in the apartment.
George had his Baptism last week & did quite well. He slept through the service and his first party, but it was better for people to hold & love him that way. We were lucky to have all the aunts & uncles and grandparents here to celebrate with us that day. Matt has gone back to work….but checks in on us and is a WONDERFUL daddy. Matt can calm George in a matter of minutes. He is there for both George & me…we are so lucky.
We’ll keep giving updates as they happen…but mostly say thank you to everyone for their well wishes and kind words. George is looking forward to meeting each of you!

All-Inclusive Resort…
Still in there…
Well, it is indeed March 6th and the baby seems to be quite happy where he/she is right now. The entire pregnancy we were saying “just let us get through OPE” (very large work event for Matt 4 day job fair for housing & other student affairs professionals hosted by UW Oshkosh Housing/Residence Life). We have indeed made it through the weekend and are now waiting for when our baby wants to be born. It has been kind of nice as we haven’t planned anything this week and are just enjoying time with each other…dinner, movies, and hanging out with one another. It some how reminds me of our early dating days…taking advantage of the time we have together because you never knew when you would get the chance to make the trip to Macomb or Cincinnati…this time the unknown is truly unknown for us…but we are taking advantage of the here & now.
Bless all of you who guessed earlier due dates, but I think it will probably be a few more days. I see the midwife tomorrow, but up until now she keeps saying that I’m doing really well, and because I’m feeling so well and can still see my ankles, it may be awhile…but now she adds “things can change at any moment”. I have another appt next week – if the baby isn’t born by then we can talk about inducing. Matt will post on the website when our son or daughter is born….and give all the details along with some pictures. It is a good thing that I am having the baby because I would not know how to post on the bog!
Thanks to everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers. We are fortunate to be raising our family with the support of so many friends & family!
Time for a contest :)

With the baby on its way SOON! We wanted to share this with all of you as well. So please post your anticipated due date in response to this post friends, family members, everyone is welcome.
The winner who guesses the correct date or comes closest without going over will receive a special gift 🙂
