Fun yet tiring…

This weekend has been fun but tiring.  We had a kids birthday party for George at Wild Air in Appleton.  Wild Air is a giant facility that is full of inflatable slides, bounce houses & obstacle courses for kids.  It was fun to have George & 7 other kids (and thankfully their parents) play for a bit then celebrate with pizza, juice & cupcakes.  Seemed like all the kids had fun!  We were hopeful that all the morning activity would mean naps, but it seems the kids thought otherwise.

That evening we had a family party at our apartment.  We realized it would be the last big party we had at this place as we will be moving by the end of June.  It was great to have so many family members come & hang out.  As usual everyone (family & friends) was too generous and we now have lots of fun things to play with.  Today I remembered how much fun a bubble machine could be.  Though it is small & hand held, it creates tons of bubbles and is lots of fun.  We also played the game ‘what’s in ned’s head’ and t-ball today.  George can’t wait to try out all his new things & on his new clothes and sheets. All these fun ‘outdoor’ toys will be great at the new house.

Other exciting news is that Stuart rolled over today!  I missed the first one because I just put him down to run to the kitchen…when I came back he was on his back instead of his tummy.  So I tried to re-create the situation & he rolled again.  Very exciting milestone for our little guy!  Both he & George have check ups on Tuesday.  In fact I may be crazy, but I’m picking the boys up and taking them for pictures at 1 pm then most likely skipping nap and going to the Dr. at 2:30 pm.  I know Stu gets shots and I can’t remember if George is due for any…..that combination may be bad but I have (really really want) to get their pictures done.

Matt & I ended our weekend by going to dinner with Dave & Michelle.  It is always great to go out and catch up with them.  We shared all of our good news and realized that our new place is only a mile from their apartment.  Easy to walk or bike….it will be nice.  Beyond all that excitement Matt & I have started our mental list of things we will need to pick up for the house…hose, shovels, lawn mower…….and as my dad said “you now have a job for life”.
