Hi From George

Attached is a a little movie clip to say hello from George.  He is off of his bottle strike…we tried a menagerie of sippy cups, but he just thinks they are fun toys that he can throw around.  We have again started the quest for sleeping through the night.  Last night he cried for about an hour….but finally fell asleep.  He is sick again (or still?) with a runny nose…which makes him cough when it runs down his throat.  Yuck.

Other than that our ‘baby’ is growing & developing quickly.  He is walking on his own with a walker at daycare.  The teacher said that he may move to the 1 year room in January or February because he may be too advanced for the baby room.  He is currently in 12 month old clothes….so I am trying to store the smaller stuff.  Our apartment continues to look more like a daycare than an adult apartment and we are going to part with the fish (Tim & Linda – thanks for taking Nemo) as George easily & quickly crawls over, stands up, chews on the plastic liner (gross) and likes to put his hand in the water.

Other new things include that he is starting to use his pincher fingers to pick up puffs & cereal.  It is difficult to get them into his mouth, but he continues to try.  We are working on sounds.  He can make m & b sounds…I thought I almost heard ball…but I think that was a momma mind trick & he was only making the sounds.  He loves to play with balls, pull all the books from the bookshelf and chew on the end table, furniture, and for some reason the stroller wheels (yep, that’s gross too).  When we help him clap his hands, he smiles but can’t do it on his own yet.  He loves music.  It doesn’t matter if you can sing (as Grma Kleinhans says) because he just loves the sounds.  He likes it so much he continually goes to the cd player, opens it, uses the disc tray to pull himself up & take out all the cds.  Again…we don’t want him to do that, but he is QUICK!

Needless to say we are excited about the holidays.  His favorite toys are the box of the gift Aunt Heidi gave him (he pushes the box around the floor constantly and then uses it as a step to crawl & climb anywhere he can) and the paper tube that Grandpa Kleinhans gave him to play with….it as since been mostly chewed and bent so it has been replaced with the tube from a roll of paper towel.  Needless to say, Christmas will be fun as he will most enjoy the wrapping paper & boxes.

He turns 8 months this week…Wow.

Hope this finds you all well!
Love, Sara Ann, Matt & George
